Reading Thought #2

Does it seem that Jason has a hard time understanding what other people are doing or asking of him? Give an example.

  1. It really struck me when he was describing the need to be on his computer in the library. He knew the librarian wanted him to say something when she was trying to get him to say thank you, he just wasn't sure what she wanted him to say and why. It makes you see the very subtle and somewhat nonsensical things we do culturally that could be so difficult for someone with autism. Like offering a thank you to someone who doesn't really deserve one just to be polite.
