Reading Thought #1

How do you know right from the beginning of the book, that Jason is not a typical twelve-year-old? Give an example from the text.

  1. I know that at the beginning of the book Jason is not a typical boy because he states that he will try talk to us in "our" language and also when he says, "But more than talking in their own language, people like to hear things in a way they are most comfortable." This statement makes me think of how Jason might like to hear and do things his own way.

  2. You know that Jason is not a typical 12 year old because he refers others as "neuro-typicals". He even then shortens it to NT's. It is like he describing two different species of people.
